About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Direct and control all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-, quarter-, and year-end close activities
  • Ensure compliance with ASC 606/IFRS 15 revenue recognition standards across recurring and services revenue streams
  • Develop understanding of the billing and revenue cycle
  • Work with Revenue Operations and Legal to align contract terms with revenue recognition
  • Prepare periodic financial statements for management, investors, and auditors
  • Drive Budget v Actual reporting for leadership
  • Update the company’s financial model with the CFO, test assumptions, and support forecasts
  • Manage finance systems including NetSuite, Bill, Avalara, and related tools
  • Develop, document, and implement internal controls and scalable finance processes
  • Improve workflows and reconciliations across finance functions
  • Manage tax filings, sales/use tax, and regulatory compliance with external advisors
  • Manage external audit, tax, and valuation providers
  • Own cash management and risk management policies and enforcement
  • Supervise, mentor, and grow the accounting team
  • Drive accountability and professional development
  • Partner with a mission-driven team to support Claritas Rx’s AI- and predictive-modeling-enabled digital health solution for rare disease and specialty brands

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • San Francisco based
  • Hybrid model with 2 days per week in the South San Francisco office
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Proven experience as a Controller in SaaS or recurring-revenue businesses
  • Deep technical knowledge of ASC 606/IFRS 15 for SaaS and service contracts
  • Mastery of NetSuite, Bill, and related accounting/finance systems
  • Experience with complex contracting, invoicing, and revenue recognition
  • Experience managing customers with multiple concurrent SOWs, mixed revenue types, and shifting delivery timeframes
  • Ability to manage the contract-to-revenue lifecycle
  • Track record designing and driving accounting and operational process change
  • Experience in high-growth, PE, or start-up environments preferred as ideal background
  • Hands-on FP&A experience, including Budget v Actual reporting, forecasting, and building or running an operating financial model
  • Ability to lead teams, scale systems, and deliver timely, accurate financial reporting
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Master’s degree or CPA preferred
