About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner closely with the Academic Field Sales team to drive growth across the US market
- Sell research and analytics solutions including Web of Science, Web of Science Research Intelligence, InCites, and Pivot-RP to universities
- Own product-led sales strategy and build a strong pipeline
- Increase deal sizes and drive cross-sell expansion within existing Academic customers
- Support selective new logo acquisition
- Achieve sales targets for assigned products and territories
- Identify and support new business opportunities independently and with Account Managers
- Design and present value-added solutions addressing customer needs
- Develop and maintain sales pipelines, improving deal size and sales-cycle speed through sales and negotiation strategies
- Establish and nurture customer relationships through communication, service, and proactive problem-solving
- Collaborate with Account Managers and commercial teams on product sales planning and sales strategies
- Build and present reports covering activities, customer interactions, pipeline status, sales forecasts, and closing timelines
- Consult with cross-functional teams on sales campaigns and new business activities
- Develop market, industry, and product knowledge
- Report to the Director of Research & Analytics Sales, Americas
- Travel up to 50% within the United States, with high travel January–May and mid-September–November
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- 7+ years of experience in research platform solutions, APIs or other integration, custom data sets, reports, or a combination of these alongside consultancy services to Academic clients
- Prior selling experience and in-depth domain knowledge of the US Academic Market
- Prior experience with academic bids and tenders
- Higher education experience
- Proven track record of business development
- Experience developing accounts through proactive prospecting
- Deep discovery to understand customer workflow and content needs
- Ability to cultivate strong customer relationships with senior stakeholders
- Consistent achievement of commercial targets in a complex sales environment
