About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with the Academic Field Sales team to drive growth across the US Market
  • Sell Research & Analytics solutions including Web of Science, Web of Science Research Intelligence, InCites, and Pivot-RP to universities
  • Own product-led sales strategy and build a strong pipeline
  • Increase deal sizes and drive cross-sell expansion within existing Academic customers
  • Support selective new logo acquisition
  • Achieve sales targets for assigned products and territories
  • Identify and support new business opportunities independently and with Account Managers
  • Design and present value-added solutions addressing customer needs
  • Develop and maintain the sales pipeline using effective sales and negotiation strategies
  • Establish and nurture customer relationships through communication, service, and proactive problem-solving
  • Collaborate with Account Managers and commercial teams on product sales planning and sales strategies
  • Build and present reports covering activities, customer interactions, pipeline status, sales forecasts, and closing timelines
  • Consult with cross-functional teams on sales campaigns and new business activities
  • Maintain relevant market, industry, and product knowledge

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant work experience
  • 7+ years of experience in research platform solutions, APIs or other integration, custom data sets, reports, or a combination of these alongside consultancy services to Academic clients
  • Prior selling experience and in-depth domain knowledge of the US Academic Market
  • Prior experience with academic bids and tenders
  • Higher education experience
  • Proven track record of business development
  • Experience developing accounts through proactive prospecting
  • Deep discovery to understand customer workflow and content needs
  • Ability to cultivate strong customer relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Consistent achievement of commercial targets in a complex sales environment
  • Ability to work primarily during core business hours in the applicable time zone
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the United States
