About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate the classroom aspects of American Heart Association courses
  • Ensure courses are held according to American Heart Association standards and guidelines
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the Resuscitation Simulation Department
  • Reserve and organize classrooms and equipment for scheduled classes
  • Ensure instructors, equipment, classroom instruction and student ratios meet American Heart Association and Cleveland Clinic standards
  • Apply adult learning techniques
  • Adapt and develop training materials
  • Prepare and adapt lesson plans based on American Heart Association curriculum and competency-based education
  • Deliver interactive, participative instruction and elicit frequent responses
  • Select and use audiovisual hardware and software to reinforce learning
  • Evaluate and document classroom and laboratory trainee reaction and learning using program- and state-approved formats

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent licensure education
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP) or Doctor of Medicine (MD)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
  • Four years of experience as a Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) provider through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
  • Ability to float to other Cleveland Clinic Foundation locations within the Florida region
  • Ability to produce documents on a PC
  • Normal or corrected vision, hearing and speech
  • Extensive sitting, standing and walking; occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds
  • Must follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
  • Must comply with post-offer controlled-substance testing
  • Must comply with the annual influenza prevention program or obtain an approved exemption
