About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead development and implementation of sourcing strategies for multiple spend categories
  • Present sourcing approaches and recommendations to leadership
  • Train, develop, coach, and mentor junior-level team members
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to identify sourcing opportunities, cost savings, value creation, and risk management initiatives
  • Review assigned categories for strengths, weaknesses, operational effectiveness, and opportunities
  • Lead complex contracts and sourcing events through their full life cycle
  • Prepare requests for proposals, information, and quotations; evaluate incoming bids
  • Lead contract negotiation and product strategy, including category KPI development
  • Lead enterprise contract conversions and acquired hospital integration efforts
  • Communicate product/service changes, coordinate training, and report outcomes
  • Lead legal review and facilitate contract approvals in accordance with internal policies and compliance requirements
  • Lead supplier relationships and review contractual performance for compliance
  • Lead or participate in vendor business reviews and performance improvement plans
  • Prepare and present complex contract, rebate, and compliance analyses to cross-functional teams
  • Maintain professional and ethical relationships with vendor representatives
  • Monitor advertising literature, trade journals, and applicable technologies
  • Lead or participate in Excelerate (GPO) contract negotiations and projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, transportation and logistics, business, or a related field
  • Seven years of experience in forecasting, inventory, contract management, analytical project management, or other related supply chain experience
  • Experience with key financial and non-financial contract terms, legal issues, and contract analysis
  • Ability to review, enhance, change, and write contract language to exact terms and conditions required for prudent purchasing and sourcing practice
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Must have own transportation to travel to multiple sites
  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment
  • May require occasional sitting, standing, and ability to walk to various locations to attend meetings
  • Must have normal or corrected vision and be able to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
  • Must comply with annual influenza vaccination or obtain an approved exemption
