About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Independently diagnose, repair, calibrate, and perform preventive maintenance on ultrasound equipment, portable/fixed X-ray rooms, and mammography equipment
- Support assigned imaging systems with minimal vendor support
- Analyze system failures of medical imaging systems and perform repairs according to manufacturer protocol and service-level agreement time standards
- Perform preventive maintenance on complex medical systems
- Develop preventive-maintenance procedures based on site-specific requirements, usage, and performance metrics
- Perform incoming inspections of new equipment
- Complete documentation for the CMMS database
- Act as an enterprise technical resource for assigned imaging equipment
- Provide on-the-job cross-training to fellow technicians
- Travel to other Cleveland Clinic locations based on business needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering Technology, or equivalent specialized/military training
- Two years of CCF Clinical Engineering Tech II experience or four years of outside experience maintaining and troubleshooting medical equipment
- OR two years of specialty experience servicing general radiology equipment, X-ray generating equipment, interventional radiology, ultrasound equipment, portable/fixed X-ray rooms, mammography equipment, or similar complex medical systems
- OR high school diploma/GED and four years of CCF Clinical Engineering Tech experience, or six years of outside experience maintaining and troubleshooting medical equipment
- OR equipment experience in a mechanical or electrical technician field and successful completion of an OEM radiological service training program or RSTI equivalent certification
- OR Bachelor's degree in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering or an IT technical field
- Knowledge of complex electronic, pneumatic, or mechanical systems related to assigned complex medical systems
- In-depth knowledge of engineering theory and principles related to assigned complex medical systems
- Required compliance with annual influenza vaccination or approved exemption
- Successful completion of post-offer controlled-substance testing
