About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Independently diagnose, repair, calibrate, and perform preventive maintenance on imaging equipment in one or more modalities: interventional radiology/Cath and EP Labs, CT, MRI, and LINAC
  • Support assigned systems with minimal vendor support
  • Analyze medical imaging system failures and perform repairs according to manufacturer protocol and service-level-agreement time standards
  • Perform preventive maintenance on complex medical systems
  • Develop preventive maintenance procedures based on site-specific requirements, usage, and performance metrics
  • Perform incoming inspections of new equipment
  • Complete documentation for the CMMS database
  • Act as an enterprise technical resource for assigned imaging equipment
  • Provide on-the-job cross-training to fellow technicians
  • Communicate equipment readiness and serviceability status to clinical and non-clinical caregivers
  • Provide progress updates and reports for senior leaders
  • Work Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with a primary focus in Northeast Ohio

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering Technology, or equivalent specialized/military training
  • Two years of Cleveland Clinic CE Imaging Tech I experience OR four years of experience working with X-ray generating equipment, interventional radiology, portable/fixed X-Ray rooms, mammography, Linear Accelerators, CT scanners, MRI machines, Nuclear Medical imaging equipment, or other similar complex medical systems
  • High School diploma/GED and four years of Cleveland Clinic Clinical Engineering Tech experience OR six years of outside experience maintaining and troubleshooting medical equipment or equipment in a mechanical or electrical technician field, plus successful completion of a radiological service training program from an OEM or RSTI-equivalent certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering or an IT technical field may substitute for the required experience
  • Successful completion of a radiological service training program from an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or third-party training company
  • Ability to move 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb 8-foot ladders and work on overhead equipment
  • Ability to work in prone positions and confined, darkened areas
  • Manual dexterity to use tools and work on small mechanical parts
  • Visual acuity to distinguish wire colors and read finely printed blueprints and schematics
  • Must follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment
  • Must comply with annual influenza vaccination program or obtain an approved exemption
  • Subject to controlled-substance testing after an employment offer
