About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist and collaborate with the Design Studio team on low- to mid-complexity facility projects across the enterprise, including renovations, new construction, and recapitalization of existing facilities
- Assist in managing project design intent
- Participate in developing budgets, schedules, and scopes of work
- Investigate, evaluate, and document existing conditions
- Develop potential design solutions meeting client needs
- Organize assignments, goals, schedules, people, and processes
- Assess facility and space requests, including furniture requirements
- Assist with space programs for projects involving new construction, renovation, or no construction
- Work with consulting architects and interior designers to translate project objectives and design concepts into functional building designs
- Educate health system stakeholders on interior design industry trends
- Assist with walkthroughs, field verification, and project scope documentation
- Perform furniture planning and finish/material selections for clinical, research, educational, administrative, and support areas
- Create and document ideas in two and three dimensions to portray initial concepts
- Prepare and present projects, design guidelines, trends, and special studies internally and externally
- Assist with furniture specifications and coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or Healthcare Facilities Planning and Design
- Healthcare facility planning experience, including developing and coordinating materials, finishes and furniture for expansion, renovation and/or new projects
- Two years of professional experience, which may include internship experience
- General knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements and FGI Guidelines
- Knowledge of architecture and healthcare planning to develop practical concepts/solutions and assist with project budgets and schedules
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adapt quickly to project needs
- Basic verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of building design, systems, and construction
- Knowledge of design principles, color, materials and aesthetic form
- Ability to conceptualize space and understand operations and workflow
- Advanced sketching, rendering, and interior architecture detailing skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Products (PPT, Excel, Word)
- NCIDQ certification preferred
- Healthcare environment experience preferred
- Architecture experience preferred
- Ability to travel between Broward and Indian River Counties regularly
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
- Passport or ability to obtain one within a reasonable time frame
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and ability to drive to Cleveland Clinic facilities
- Ability to perform occasional lifting of 5 to 15 pounds
- Compliance with required personal protective equipment
- Must comply with the influenza prevention program, including annual vaccination or approved exemption
