About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide professional nursing care to patients
- Administer medication
- Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date documentation in medical records and files
- Complete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions
- Implement pain management assessments and documentation
- Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO
- Follow Code Blue protocol
- Assess, plan, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate patient progress through the continuum of care in conjunction with the R.N. or physician
- Collaborate with fellow caregivers to provide exceptional, high-quality care to a diverse patient population
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of Accredited LPN program
- Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Certification
- Knowledge of infection control practices
- Computer literacy
- Frequent walking, sitting, and standing
- Frequent talking and listening when giving instructions and explanations
- Ability to use phone, fax machines, and computer
- Ability to lift and move patients and carry equipment, supplies, and material up to 50 pounds without help and over 50 pounds with mechanical devices or other personnel
- Ability to stoop, push, pull, reach, handle, feel, and manipulate equipment
- Willingness to comply with drug screening after an offer of employment
- Willingness to comply with the annual influenza prevention program or obtain an approved exemption
- Ability to use personal protective equipment, including gloves, masks, gowns, and goggles, as appropriate
