About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support pre- and post-procedure patient care in the Endoscopy Outpatient department
- Work closely with physicians, registered nurses, and the clinical team
- Assist with procedures
- Perform high-level disinfection and reprocessing of scopes
- Provide patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or physician
- Collect and document objective and subjective patient data and observations
- Complete nursing assessments and report all data
- Implement nursing care plans, medications, and treatments
- Communicate patients’ responses to care
- Observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments
- Perform routine laboratory tests
- Educate patients and family members
- Help maintain smooth clinical operations, safety, compliance, and positive patient outcomes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an approved school of practical nursing
- Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- One year of patient care experience preferred
- IV Certified highly preferred
- Ability to provide patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or physician
- Ability to perform routine laboratory tests
- Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting 20–50 pounds occasionally, 10–25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly
- Ability to use required personal protective equipment and follow standard precautions
