About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support medication management, patient monitoring, and clinical and office tasks
- Create a welcoming and supportive environment for patients, families, and visitors
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff
- Assist with screenings and treatments by gathering and updating health-maintenance information
- Identify medication changes and update allergy information
- Collect specimens, perform tests, and document patient care
- Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition
- Maintain equipment, medical supplies, and examination areas
- Perform filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration
- Coordinate care and work with interdisciplinary teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program (as designated by the Enterprise MA Steering Committee)
- Completion of a clinical externship; extensive clinical experience may be considered in lieu of formal clinical externship
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within new hire period
- Current demonstrated clinical proficiency
- Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W), or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered
- Medical Assisting Certification preferred
- Successful completion of Cleveland Clinic Externship preferred
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment
- May require extended periods of standing, walking, or sitting
- Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision
- Ability to perform light work and lift up to 20 pounds occasionally or up to 10 pounds frequently
- Must follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required
- Employment offers are followed by controlled-substance testing
- Must comply with the influenza prevention program
