About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support onboarding of new caregivers and address ongoing health needs for existing caregivers
  • Support patients in an occupational health setting
  • Draw blood and perform specimen collection
  • Work alongside Nurses and Patient Service Specialists
  • Assist with assessments and treatments under physician or nurse supervision
  • Gather and update health maintenance information
  • Document patient care
  • Identify medication changes and update allergies at each visit
  • Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition
  • Administer specific medications under physician direction
  • Maintain exam rooms, equipment and medical supplies
  • Assist with pre-visit planning and updating health maintenance tabs
  • Complete filing, reception duties, scheduling, data entry and patient registration
  • Rotate shifts between Marymount Sports Health Center and Main Campus
  • Travel to other Cleveland Clinic locations as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of an approved Medical Assisting Program
  • Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) considered
  • Demonstrated clinical proficiency
  • Completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within new hire period
  • Medical Assistant (MA) Certification preferred
  • Successful completion of a CC Externship preferred
  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment
  • May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting
  • Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision
  • Ability to handle and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or move 10 to 25 pounds frequently
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures
  • Willingness to comply with annual influenza vaccination program or obtain an approved exemption
  • Subject to controlled-substance testing following an employment offer
