About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support ambulatory pharmacy operations through prescription processing, patient communication, and medication order coordination in a high-volume call center
  • Process prescription orders and perform data entry
  • Support billing and insurance adjudication activities
  • Communicate with patients, providers, and pharmacy teams regarding medication-related needs
  • Maintain accuracy, compliance, and efficiency throughout prescription fulfillment
  • Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance, and support for pharmacists in an ambulatory/outpatient setting
  • Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients
  • Maintain outpatient pharmacy inventory
  • Assist with extemporaneous and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over-the-counter items
  • Operate the point-of-sale cash register system
  • Monitor reorder points, restock prescription and non-prescription areas, and remove expiring products
  • Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Applicants must reside in Northeast Ohio
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Six months of related experience OR required license and certification combination
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB or NHA, if using the license/certification pathway
  • Active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician or Registered Pharmacy Technician; Pharmacy Technician Trainee status does not qualify
  • If certified but registered as a Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee, update registration status to Certified Pharmacy Technician with OBOP within six months of hire
  • Ability to commute to the Administrative Campus in Beachwood, Ohio for at least 3 days per week during the first 30 days
  • Ability to perform duties involving standing, reaching, stretching, stooping, sitting for prolonged periods, and manual dexterity for computer and dispensing functions
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. while walking, stooping, bending, and reaching
  • Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required
  • Comply with controlled-substance testing after an offer of employment
  • Comply with the annual influenza vaccination program or obtain an approved exemption
  • Preferred: six months of hospital experience
  • Preferred: completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program
  • Preferred: prior outpatient pharmacy experience
  • Preferred: call center or patient-facing experience
  • Preferred: comfortability with high-volume calls and processing
