About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform blood collection procedures and follow venipuncture procedures
  • Maintain appropriate log sheets
  • Verify order requests and identify information before drawing blood or collecting specimens/kits
  • Label collected specimens and deliver them to the appropriate processing area
  • Perform specimen processing and send-out tasks, including accessioning, centrifugation and packaging
  • Pick up and deliver blood, other sample types and lab supplies
  • Work part-time schedules of 7:30am–12:00pm or, when needed, 8:00am–5:00pm
  • Participate in weekend rotation, 8:00am–12:00pm every other Saturday

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical proficiency with standard procedures, techniques and common practices
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a team environment
  • Ability to perform frequent and long durations of standing and walking
  • Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to manipulate blood drawing equipment and make measurements
  • Must comply with annual influenza prevention program, including vaccination or approved exemption
  • Offers of employment are followed by testing for controlled substances
