About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support Supply Chain activities related to Clinical Device contracts, including sourcing, contract management, supplier analysis, and cost optimization
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to identify opportunities that improve value and support operational needs
- Support organizational financial goals through annualized cost savings
- Contribute to cost-basis reduction initiatives through data analysis, sourcing strategies, contract negotiations, and identification of cost improvement opportunities
- Support category teams in identifying sourcing opportunities involving cost savings, value creation, and risk management
- Request quotations from existing vendors and evaluate quality, price, product availability, distribution method, risk, and related criteria
- Perform data analysis for assigned less complex spend categories
- Maintain category team data validity through data maintenance
- Collaborate with senior-level analysts on contract negotiations and projects
- Identify contract negotiations and other savings opportunities with the team
- Initiate quotation requests and review bids for price, stock availability, price protection, consignment, and alternatives
- Meet with sales representatives to evaluate new products or services
- Perform data analysis and prepare category performance reports for the manager
- Monitor developments concerning purchased goods and services using advertising literature, trade journals, and other information sources
- Maintain professional and ethical relationships with vendor representatives and conduct business according to established principles and guidelines
- Maintain excellence in customer service
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in supply chain management, transportation and logistics, Business or a related field
- High School diploma/GED and four years of relevant experience in a hospital setting can substitute for the degree
- Associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting can substitute for the degree
- Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Analytical skills and knowledge of PC computer programs for spreadsheet analysis and data extraction
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment
- Ability to frequently sit, stand, and walk to various locations for meetings
- Normal or corrected vision
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person
- Own transportation to travel to multiple sites
- Compliance with required personal protective equipment
- Compliance with annual influenza vaccination program or approved exemption
- Successful controlled-substance testing following an offer of employment
