About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct customer service and support caregivers on nursing units at Cleveland Clinic Hospitals
  • Review and communicate staffing and scheduling adjustments encompassing nurse-to-patient ratios
  • Work directly with management of assigned facilities/units to review staffing levels and staffing needs
  • Generate and review 24-hour staffing projections
  • Seek coverage via phone calls and/or texts for shifts and special circumstances
  • Conduct the Lack of Work process according to Standard Operating Procedure when necessary
  • Identify and resolve complex staffing issues affecting patient care
  • Use multiple computer systems to communicate with nursing leadership across hospitals
  • Collaborate with nurse leadership to review current and anticipated staffing needs
  • Collaborate with nursing institute timekeeping to ensure proper coding of caregiver time
  • Facilitate scheduling of PRN and agency caregivers
  • Document caregiver schedule changes using Kronos
  • Serve as a point of contact for unit call offs
  • Record, document and report call offs according to SOP
  • Compile ad hoc and scheduled reports for Chief Nursing Officers, Nursing Directors and Nurse Managers
  • Attend and successfully complete required training

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of customer service experience
  • Associate's Degree may substitute for up to 1 year of the stated experience
  • Bachelor's Degree may substitute for up to 2 years of stated experience
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel and database software
  • One year of staffing/scheduling experience preferred
  • Requires manual dexterity for constant data entry and ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to use a telephone without TTY
  • Articulate speech
  • Must comply with the influenza prevention program, including obtaining an annual influenza vaccination or an approved exemption
  • Offers are followed by testing for controlled substances
