About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Plan, build, and further develop Proxmox-based private cloud environments
Migrate existing VMware and other virtualization environments to Proxmox
Build and operate Kubernetes platforms, particularly with Rancher and RKE2
Design highly available infrastructure and storage solutions, such as with Ceph
Automate infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD
Advise customers on private cloud, hybrid cloud, and modern infrastructure
Analyze existing environments and develop suitable target architectures
Support technical workshops, migrations, and proofs of concept
Document architectures and technical decisions
Take responsibility for architectural decisions, technical standards, or team development, depending on experience
Collaborate with customers and the engineering team
Support customers throughout the process, from architecture and migration through technical implementation

Requirements

What you’ll need

Hands-on experience with Proxmox VE and Ceph
Solid Linux skills
Good foundational knowledge of virtualization, networking, and storage
Basic understanding of containers and containerized applications
Good overall IT infrastructure knowledge
Independent and structured approach to work
Interest in solving technical challenges together with customers
Very good German and good English skills
Willingness and interest to develop expertise in Kubernetes, Rancher, RKE2, distributed storage systems, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, Ansible, Azure, AWS, VMware-to-Proxmox migrations, highly available private cloud architectures, backup and disaster recovery concepts, network architectures, VPNs, firewalls, VLANs, and monitoring
