About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain the Cloudflare global network and data center environment operational availability
Collaborate with Infrastructure, Network Engineering and SRE teams
Work with hardware manufacturers, data center and network providers, logistics partners, ISPs and other service providers
Create documentation and manage remote contractors for data center tasks across 330+ cities and 125+ countries
Leverage AI tools to automate repetitive operational tasks, accelerate documentation and speed troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
Create and maintain documentation, plans, SOPs and MOPs
Support and configure network infrastructure where required
Provide feedback to internal teams on internal tools and external vendor partnerships
Seek scalable technology and automation improvements for global infrastructure
Define, document and implement consistent processes across regions
Participate in limited travel and shared 24×7 on-call coverage

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience with Juniper, Cisco and DWDM network equipment
Minimum of 4 years experience of Linux systems administration
Experience managing and instructing remote contractors
Familiarity with work required to stand up infrastructure in remote colocation facilities
Experience running and improving operational processes, including automation tooling, in a rapidly changing environment
Familiarity with Data Center Operations tasks and projects, including deployment, migration and decommissioning
Basic program management responsibilities, including prioritization, planning, scheduling and status reporting, such as JIRA
Participation in a shared on-call rotation to maintain 24×7 operational availability
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or MIS is listed as desirable
Direct experience executing complex data center/infrastructure projects
Experience installing or maintaining data center and other IT infrastructure and DCIM tools
Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, attention to detail and interpersonal skills
Proactive approach with ability to learn quickly and execute multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to use Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
Team-player mindset
Bonus: Linux or network certifications, configuration management systems, Bash/Python/Go, load balancing and reverse proxies, large-scale SaaS experience
Authorization to receive software or technology controlled under U.S. export laws without sponsorship for an export license may be required
