About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain the Cloudflare global network and Data Center environment operational availability
Collaborate with Infrastructure, Network Engineering and SRE teams
Create documentation and manage remote contractors for datacenter tasks
Work with hardware manufacturers, datacenter and network providers, logistics partners and other service providers supporting 330+ cities and 125+ countries
Leverage AI tools to automate repetitive operational tasks, accelerate documentation and speed troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
Create and maintain documentation, plans, SOPs and MOPs
Support and configure network infrastructure where required
Provide feedback to internal teams to support internal tools and external vendor partnerships
Introduce scalable technology and automation solutions to improve global infrastructure deployment and maintenance
Define, document and implement consistent processes across regions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience with Juniper, Cisco and DWDM network equipment
Minimum of 4 years experience of Linux systems administration
Experience managing and instructing remote contractors
Familiarity with work required to stand up infrastructure in remote colocation facilities
Experience running and improving operational processes, including automation tooling, in a rapidly changing environment
Familiarity with day-to-day Data Center Operations tasks and projects, including deployment, migration and decommissioning
Basic program management responsibilities, including prioritization, planning, scheduling and status reporting, such as JIRA
Participation in a shared on-call rotation to maintain 24×7 operational availability
Bachelor's degree; technical background in engineering, computer science, or MIS (desirable)
Direct experience executing complex data center/infrastructure projects
Experience installing/maintaining data center and other IT infrastructure and DCIM tools
Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, attention to detail and interpersonal skills
Ability to learn quickly and execute multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to manage Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
Team-player mindset
Export-control authorization to receive controlled software or technology without sponsorship for an export license may be required
