About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own and execute the interconnection and backbone strategy for the Americas.
Drive interconnection scale with major U.S. ISPs and eyeball networks through private interconnect, peering, and capacity expansion.
Build resilient, cost-effective network reach across South America, with particular focus on Brazil.
Use AI-driven analytics to interpret traffic patterns, peering opportunities, and performance/cost trade-offs.
Develop automated, agentic workflows for LOAs, ticketing, contract tracking, and data hygiene.
Build capacity, cost, and resiliency models to support strategic decisions.
Optimize regional traffic flow across backbone, partner, transit, IX, and peer connections.
Expand, optimize, and maintain Cloudflare’s backbone across the Americas.
Lead negotiations for complex interconnection agreements and Tier-1 partnerships.
Advise budget planning for regional growth and scaling.
Set strategy and priorities for the Regional Network Acquisition Manager and review sourcing recommendations.
Cultivate relationships with ISPs, IXPs, carriers, and partners across the Americas.
Collaborate with Data Center Strategy, Network Engineering, Capacity Planning, and Infrastructure Operations.
Represent Cloudflare in regional and global industry forums and conferences.

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience in network infrastructure, ideally within a Telco, ISP, CDN, or cloud environment.
Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies, including BGP, DWDM, and IP networking.
Proven experience negotiating and managing interconnection agreements.
Working knowledge of the Americas connectivity landscape, including the U.S. wholesale/peering market and South American transport, IXP, partner, subsea, and terrestrial dynamics.
Fluency with AI tools in daily work and willingness to use AI/agentic tooling.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Experience with capacity planning, cost modeling, and operations research.
Professional proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is a bonus.
Experience building or scaling network presence in emerging or infrastructure-constrained markets is a bonus.
Experience designing AI-assisted analytics or automation for network/commercial operations is a bonus.
Ability to satisfy U.S. export-control authorization requirements without sponsorship for an export license, if applicable.
