Solve complex, cross-cutting engineering challenges that benefit all Cloudflare products
Design and make core architectural decisions focused on reducing fanout and simplifying system dependencies
Make platform adoption seamless and straightforward for product engineering teams
Propose architectures, write detailed specifications, and implement high-quality, maintainable code
Build scalable and highly available systems
Participate in thorough code reviews
Provide constructive feedback on technical specifications and designs
Ensure implementations adhere to reliability and security best practices
Work on foundational platform applications used across Cloudflare resources as part of the Global Resource Management team

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of professional experience in software development, building and operating mission-critical, high-scale distributed systems
Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) or a similar modern systems language
Proven experience in designing, building, and operating scalable, highly available services at cloud-scale
Understanding of organization, dependency management, and resource orchestration in a large, multi-tenant environment
Experience participating in a code review process and contributing thoughtful feedback to design specifications
Comfortable working across teams to identify shared challenges and propose platform-level solutions
Applicants may need authorization to receive software or technology controlled under U.S. export laws without sponsorship for an export license
Familiarity with Cloudflare’s core technologies, such as edge computing or global networking, is a bonus
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and related technologies is a bonus
