About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review and analyze trial records, appellate records, appellate briefs, and evidence involving sophisticated and complicated legal issues.
  • Conduct complex legal research and analysis and draft memoranda.
  • Provide research and support on complex cases.
  • Draft pre-trial motions, post-trial motions, appellate briefs, and dispositive motions on highly complex and high-exposure cases.
  • Support the Appellate, Litigation Strategy, and Trial Monitoring practice across catastrophic personal injury, business and commercial litigation, premises liability, mass tort, and trucking and transportation matters.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate or Counsel level appellate attorney.
  • Admission to the New York Bar and ideally New Jersey Bar, or at least eligible for admission.
  • 3+ years of appellate experience.
  • Appellate trial monitoring experience.
  • Substantial experience drafting pre- and post-trial motions, appellate briefs, and dispositive motions.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Exceptional legal writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly.
