About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Join the Catastrophic Injury and Large Loss team in the Edinburgh office
  • Handle a varied caseload involving catastrophic personal injury and large loss claims
  • Assist experienced partners with complex, high-value and sensitive claims
  • Act for insurance companies, self-insured commercial organisations and public bodies
  • Conduct liability investigations, policy coverage assessments and quantum assessments
  • Take witness statements and review and interpret medical records and medical reports
  • Report to and liaise with clients to achieve the best outcomes
  • Comply with client SLAs and MI requirements
  • Manage files proactively and strategically, including adherence to court timetables
  • Support partners in servicing existing clients, growing new business and maintaining client relationships
  • Draft legal documents and client advice
  • Deal with interlocutory proceedings, CCMCs and client meetings
  • Support marketing and business development activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • NQ to 2 years PQE
  • Previous experience dealing with Catastrophic Personal Injury and Large Loss cases
  • Experience of personal injury litigation
  • Ability to adapt within a demanding, fast-paced team
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and expand legal knowledge
  • Focus on delivering a highly professional client service
  • Ability to comply with client SLAs and MI requirements
  • Ability to investigate claims, take witness statements, and review and interpret medical records and reports
  • Ability to draft legal documents and client advice
  • Ability to deal with interlocutory proceedings, CCMCs and client meetings
