About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Join Clyde & Co's specialist Volume Motor team in the Glasgow or Edinburgh office
- Handle a caseload of approximately 70 files at any one time
- Deal with procedural aspects from issue through to trial
- Draft pleadings
- Value personal injury using JC Guidelines and case law
- Assess claims for special damages
- Negotiate settlements using persuasive arguments
- Prepare witness statements for court proceedings via telephone or video call
- Attend conferences with counsel when required
- Liaise with claimant's solicitors, counsel, courts, brokers, policyholders and insurer clients
- Complete Management Information accurately and on time
- Adhere to client SLA requirements for reporting and updates
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous Motor/RTA litigation experience is essential
- Background in Motor/RTA fee earning
- Competence running a defendant caseload of litigated matters
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently by managing time in a fast pace environment
- Professional manner with ability to build relationships internally and externally
- Strong organisation skills
- Ability to use a case management system
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
