About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver high-quality legal services across professional liability matters
- Manage a diverse caseload involving claims against solicitors, accountants, financial advisers, construction consultants, brokers and other regulated practitioners
- Handle complex, multi-party disputes, both litigated and pre-action
- Advise on policy coverage issues and related matters
- Provide advisory work for major insurers, Lloyd’s syndicates and corporate clients
- Run files independently
- Contribute to strategically important matters under partner guidance
- Handle regulatory investigations, litigation and coverage matters
- Identify key trigger points for insurance protection
- Support practice management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 3 PQE preferred as a guide; all suitable candidates will be considered
- Previous experience acting on coverage disputes and advisory matters in the financial, professional and management lines space
- Strong knowledge of the FCA-regulated space and FOS procedure
- Previous experience working on financial lines and coverage matters
- Experience across various coverage and liability matters
- Excellent technical legal skills, including drafting and strategy management
- Ability to manage and prioritise a full and varied caseload
- Experience supporting practice management
- Connections with clients in the insurance market and a developing profile and network of contacts and potential clients
- Excellent team player contributing to Clyde & Co competencies
- Practicing certificate required for practicing solicitors under the Solicitors Act 1974
- Successful completion of a Training Contract or equivalent
- Relevant education: Legal Practice Course; Graduate Diploma in Law if a non-Law graduate
