About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review and process port-related expenses, including pilotage, tugage, wharfage, and stevedoring costs submitted by sub-agents or vendors
  • Audit employee reimbursements and corporate card expenses for compliance with company policy and local tax laws
  • Prepare and post month-end journal entries for accruals, prepayments, and depreciation
  • Assist with VAT filing data preparation and ensure withholding tax is correctly applied to foreign vendor payments
  • Reconcile balances with Head Office and overseas branches through inter-office billing
  • Explain local tax and accounting logic to HQ Finance managers and non-Korean-speaking stakeholders
  • Communicate daily with GBS, ARO, or HQ through email and messenger
  • Collaborate with Operations, Equipment, and Commercial departments to resolve financial bottlenecks
  • Translate local accounting nuances into standard business English for reporting

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Mandatory: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or Finance
  • Mandatory: 1 to 3 years of relevant experience; junior candidates with exceptional internship experience may be considered
  • Business English proficiency in written and verbal communication
  • Ability to explain Korean tax/accounting specifics to HQ Finance managers in English
  • Familiarity with K-GAAP and IFRS, specifically lease accounting or FX valuation
  • Strong understanding of foreign exchange gains/losses
  • Ability to collaborate with non-finance departments
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is a strong plus
  • Comfortable communicating with GBS, ARO, or HQ via email and messenger daily
  • Ability to translate local accounting nuances into standard business English for reporting
  • Understanding of international business etiquette and ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • English certifications such as TOEIC or OPIc are preferred
  • Experience working in an international business setting is preferred
