About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as a trusted business partner to finance and business stakeholders across the APAC region
  • Translate complex tax issues into clear, practical guidance
  • Develop partnerships and provide tax technical expertise to country finance teams and business units
  • Review tax positions and provision recommendations with management
  • Manage and challenge external advisors in Asia-Pacific jurisdictions
  • Collaborate with Asia-Pacific and Global Headquarters, business, and finance departments to address tax risks and exposures
  • Manage income tax, VAT/GST, and Transfer Pricing queries, tax audits, tax litigation, and challenges across Asia-Pacific
  • Plan and strategize tactics for defending the Group’s tax and Transfer Pricing positions
  • Mitigate tax risks while supporting business models operated by Asia-Pacific entities
  • Coordinate stakeholder management and implementation of solutions to secure tax outcomes
  • Lead tax matters and provide strategic tax advice on new business initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, and other projects
  • Advise businesses on taxation matters in complex and time-sensitive environments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Professional, or equivalent qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Taxation, or related field
  • 5+ years of tax experience in an MNC or professional advisory firm
  • Strong international tax knowledge, particularly across APAC
  • Strong technical tax, tax risk, controversy, Transfer Pricing, and advisory experience
  • Strong analytical skills, including advanced Excel, data analysis, tax reporting, and finance systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and data integrity
  • Ability to identify tax risks and trends
  • Strong problem-solving and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to manage complex issues across multiple APAC jurisdictions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to simplify complex tax matters and influence senior stakeholders
  • Collaborative and comfortable working across diverse cultures, geographies, and functions
  • Ability to coach and develop finance colleagues on tax matters and emerging developments
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and complex environment
