About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead identification, evaluation, and implementation of AI-enabled actuarial solutions
  • Advance adoption of artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, automation, and cloud-based technologies within the actuarial organization
  • Work with senior management to develop and execute the Actuarial AI Strategy
  • Drive innovation through thought leadership and practical implementation of AI-enabled actuarial solutions
  • Build relationships with peers, business partners, and leaders across functions
  • Monitor emerging AI capabilities, actuarial workflows, operational effectiveness, and analytical opportunities
  • Partner with actuarial, underwriting, claims, finance, data, and technology teams to create measurable business value
  • Participate in developing and implementing actuarial policies, business strategies, and goals
  • Promote AI adoption, education, and change management through best practices, reusable solutions, and coaching
  • Stay current on actuarial, technology, artificial intelligence, and insurance industry developments
  • Report to an AVP or above
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent
  • Typically a minimum of ten years of related work experience
  • Fellowship accreditation (FCAS)
  • Demonstrated experience applying advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, automation, or emerging technologies to business challenges
  • Senior-level knowledge of actuarial principles, practices, procedures, and insurance industry issues
  • Ability to identify, prioritize, and operationalize AI-enabled opportunities
  • Experience influencing business partners and leaders at various levels
  • Strong understanding of artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, automation, and emerging technologies
  • Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Professional judgment and responsibility for business-impacting decisions
  • Solid project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and lead through change
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing business outcomes through data-driven decision-making preferred
