About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform underwriting analysis and documentation to determine risk acceptability for renewal and new business within assigned authority
- Handle endorsement requests within delegated authority and refer exceptions to underwriters with recommended action
- Engage agencies to clarify endorsement intent or obtain missing information
- Handle assigned renewal books and triage renewal applications/specifications
- Liaise within the branch and across CNA to resolve billing, collections, risk control, underwriting guidance, line-of-business, and underwriting-services issues
- Document assigned files for completeness, compliance, and quality
- Execute advanced pricing strategies and document pricing rationale
- Complete quote proposals and negotiate with external partners within assigned authority
- Serve as first-line contact for producers/customers and identify upsell or account-rounding opportunities
- Assist in marketing products and services through external partners and make field visits
- Serve as a systems and workflow resource, trainer, problem solver, coach, and feedback conduit
- Keep current on line-of-business strategy, state/territory issues, regulations, and trends
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Typically a minimum of three years of related work experience
- Knowledge of Property and Casualty underwriting, including insurance products, policy processing procedures, and documentation
- Strong time management and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with internal and external business partners at all levels
- Ability to work independently on multiple tasks
- Strong capability to advise and coach others
- Demonstrated customer service experience
- Ability to interact with a wide variety of people daily in person, by telephone, and by email
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software
