About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Translate business requirements into technical solutions for complex POS and Retail IT projects
- Oversee implementation, testing, certification, and retail rollouts
- Ensure technology aligns with business processes and project objectives
- Contribute to the POS roadmap
- Provide technical guidance to junior team members
- Execute POS testing and solution validation activities
- Provide advanced technical support to team members and vendors
- Support integrated retail solutions that interact with POS systems
- Coach and mentor junior team members through knowledge sharing and technical guidance
- Collaborate with System Analyst team members, Technology functions, In Store Solutions, Home and Building Solutions, and Local Co-ops
- Report to the Manager, Ag and Home POS
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3-6 years of relevant experience with multiple Point-of-Sale software and hardware, including Point-of-Sale related solutions experience
- A Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field; a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered
- Familiarity with relational databases
- Familiarity with operating systems
- Familiarity with PCI
- Familiarity with retail POS infrastructure
- Experience with payment systems, DIY, Food, Fuel platforms, register platforms, and self-checkout systems considered an asset
- May be required to complete a criminal background check
- Ability to work remotely from within Canada
