About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Administer U.S. and Canada benefits programs and serve as the primary liaison among employees, benefits brokers, carriers, and vendors
  • Respond to employee questions, resolve benefits issues, escalate complex matters, and provide timely and accurate information
  • Administer leave-of-absence programs across the U.S. and Canada, including communications, documentation, case coordination, tracking, and compliance
  • Administer benefits enrollments, qualifying life event changes, terminations of coverage, and related updates across HiBob, ADP, carrier platforms, and related systems
  • Partner on benefits renewals, plan design changes, employee communications, and ongoing administration
  • Facilitate People & Culture onboarding for new hires
  • Support offboarding activities, including benefits-related communications and compliance items
  • Create, maintain, and update employee handbooks, policies, procedures, and related documentation
  • Drive administration and implementation of employee well-being and engagement initiatives for North America
  • Partner with payroll and finance on benefits deductions, leave-related pay changes, payroll updates, and audits
  • Provide backup support for North American payroll processing
  • Respond to employee, manager, vendor, and external inquiries related to People & Culture policies, benefits, leaves, and processes
  • Support People & Culture projects, benefits initiatives, compliance activities, and process improvements
  • Coordinate global mobility administration, including immigration documentation, case tracking, records maintenance, and coordination with employees, managers, and external immigration partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of benefits administration or related Human Resources experience, including ownership of benefits programs for a mid-sized or larger organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of U.S. and Canadian benefits, leave, employment, workplace safety, and anti-discrimination requirements
  • Experience supporting employees and operations across the U.S. and Canada preferred
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, adapt to changing needs, and meet deadlines with accuracy and accountability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with HRIS, payroll, benefits, and carrier systems
  • Ability to work on-site in the Chicago office at least three days per week
