About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead or support major grant proposals, concepts, and letters of inquiry from prospecting through submission.
- Meet funder guidelines and submission requirements.
- Translate CodePath's mission, programs, impact data, and student outcomes into compelling funder-facing narratives.
- Research, synthesize, and translate program data into briefs, proposals, reports, and supporting materials.
- Build frameworks and narratives for complex, high-value opportunities.
- Serve as lead or supporting writer on major funder reports.
- Manage funder portal accounts, submission calendars, organizational credentials, and internal grant management systems such as Asana.
- Build and maintain a shared library of reusable narrative assets, templates, proof points, and boilerplate language.
- Collaborate with Finance, Delivery, Higher Education, and Data to turn program updates, metrics, and student stories into funder-facing narratives.
- Use AI tools to improve proposal, report, and asset development workflows.
- Document writing patterns and organizational knowledge to improve AI-assisted drafting and automate routine work.
- Independently manage assigned deliverables from information gathering through submission and ship repeatable or AI-enabled workflows.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5–7 years writing for institutional and corporate funders — proposals, letters of inquiry, and funder reports. Long-form, funder-facing, and written by you.
- Experience documenting recurring work, streamlining it with AI tools, and handing the result to other people.
- Ability to independently synthesize data by collaborating with data and finance teams and turning information into accurate narrative.
- Ability to collaborate across functions and understand programs and strategy.
- Ability to work at pace with concurrent deadlines, shifting priorities, and changing information.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with attention to detail and strategic perspective.
- Preferred: experience in education, workforce development, or youth-serving nonprofits.
- Preferred: experience in a social impact, tech, or tech-adjacent environment.
- Preferred: CRM management, with HubSpot preferred.
- Preferred: Asana or similar project management platforms.
- Preferred: comfort building simple visual assets such as Canva.
