About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coach roughly 10 pods, supporting about 20 fellows across 8–12 host organizations from pre-Basecamp through the final day
  • Review every fellow's pull request and provide structured written feedback on PRs, roadmap drafts, architecture proposals, and QBR deliverables
  • Facilitate weekly 1:1s with fellows and document their progress, challenges, and successes
  • Lead Day 30/90/180/270 milestone reviews and submit fellow-level synthesis to the Senior Manager of AI Practice
  • Deliver just-in-time curriculum modules and author lane- or pod-specific content when commissioned
  • Frame and debrief cohort-wide all-hands and instructional sessions
  • Co-lead the Basecamp practical assessment with Anthropic instructors
  • Identify recurring problems and escalate them to the appropriate leadership, curriculum, partner expert, host-organization, or management owner
  • Act as the first escalation point when a fellow's technical work is at risk
  • Use Claude for code review, pattern-spotting, and feedback at scale
  • Surface cohort-wide technical patterns and ensure reviews are completed and documented

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2 to 4 years of professional software engineering on a real team
  • Real coaching or mentorship experience, formal or informal
  • Ability to review pull requests in unfamiliar technology stacks and provide specific, useful feedback
  • Experience shipping production work with AI-assisted development tools and ability to describe how the workflow changed
  • Comfortable working as a generalist coach and finding answers or appropriate experts quickly
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Comfortable with remote, synchronous obligations across US time zones and about two evenings a month for cohort sessions and milestone reviews
  • Preferred: TA, bootcamp coach, fellowship mentor, or instructor experience in a cohort program
  • Preferred: Experience at a small or scrappy organization translating business context into technical decisions
  • Preferred: Comfort across at least two of web full-stack, data/AI engineering, ML, and infra/devops
