About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead growth and commercial development for Coface’s Financial Institutions segment across North America
- Own new business, retention and portfolio growth for the Financial Institutions segment
- Originate and execute FI transactions and established structures across trade finance, receivables finance, supply chain finance, securitization and related working-capital solutions
- Build and deepen senior relationships with banks, financial institutions and FI-specialized brokers
- Translate regional and Group FI strategy into actionable growth priorities, target-client profiles, underwriting strike zones and market guidance
- Advise clients and intermediaries on risk-transfer structures supporting financing objectives, capital optimization and regulatory requirements
- Vet, curate and negotiate bespoke policy wordings, including NPI, syndicated and non-cancellable structures, and secure approvals from Coface Group Headquarters in Paris
- Use New York City as a central meeting point for key U.S. FI stakeholders
- Collaborate with the Group FI team in Paris and Commercial, Underwriting, Legal and Operations colleagues locally and globally
- Collaborate with the Group FI team through regular interaction and extended stays in Paris, typically one week at a time
- Lead cross-functional growth initiatives and develop repeatable solutions and go-to-market approaches
- Provide commercial leadership, executive-level communication and disciplined pipeline management
- Lead, coach and develop two FI Account Managers, with potential team expansion
- Report to the Regional Chief Commercial Officer
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field preferred
- Significant experience in Financial Institutions, trade credit insurance, banking, credit specialties or structured trade and working-capital solutions
- Strong record of originating and executing FI transactions
- Expertise in trade finance, receivables finance, supply chain finance and related insurance structures
- Knowledge of transactional, regulatory and capital-relief considerations
- Ability to structure and execute established insurance solutions and policy wordings for traditional and bespoke FI transactions across multiple jurisdictions
- Strong commercial orientation and track record of growth, client development and successful execution with banks, financial institutions and specialized brokers
- Established credibility and relevant relationships within the U.S. and global FI ecosystem
- Excellent structuring, negotiation, executive presentation and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and coordinate Commercial, Underwriting, Legal, Operations and Group stakeholders without relying solely on formal authority
- International perspective and willingness to travel frequently, including regular engagement in New York City and extended working periods in Paris
- High achievement orientation, resilience, constructive competitiveness, ownership, sound judgment, collaboration and high ethical standards
- Pragmatic, entrepreneurial and solution-oriented working style
- Fluent English required; additional language capabilities are an advantage
