About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop a deep understanding of customer problems and map them to Cohere solutions
Partner with account executives, the partner ecosystem, and executive leadership
Act as the trusted technical advisor owning technical relationships with stakeholders
Increase adoption of Cohere products internally and externally
Gather customer insights and feedback to shape future products
Lead the design and deployment of customer pilots for strategic enterprise and government customers
Own the customer’s technical narrative from discovery and architecture through pilot results and business case
Bring structured customer feedback to Product and Engineering teams
Lead the technical talk track on customer calls
Design enterprise architectures for North deployments, including on-prem, air-gapped, and sovereign cloud setups meeting German and EU requirements
Conduct deep dives on customer queries and Cohere technology
Work with customer executives to prioritize use cases, define success metrics, and build the AI adoption business case
Facilitate customer evaluations and pilots inside customer stacks
Own the technical response to RFPs and public tenders, including security questionnaires and mapping Lastenheft requirements to Cohere’s solution
Develop and document processes enabling the Solutions Architect and adjacent teams to scale
Collaborate with Product and Engineering to align offerings with customer needs
Work with system integrators, consultancies, and sovereign cloud providers to develop partner enablement strategies

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years in customer-facing technical roles where you both built and advised, such as consulting data scientist, forward deployed engineer, deployment strategist, or solutions architect
Experience taking AI or data solutions from executive problem framing to production
Passion for Agentic AI and practical understanding of where LLMs deliver value in production
Solid grounding in ML fundamentals, including training, evaluation, and retrieval
Ability to design evaluation frameworks for customer pilots
Excellent communication skills for presenting to CEOs and technical audiences
Ability to thrive in ambiguity and establish high-impact structure and processes
Comfortable working with Python and Assistive Coding tools
Professional fluency in English and German (C1 or higher, verhandlungssicher)
Bonus: experience in the German market, such as at a system integrator or consultancy, or working on RFPs and public tenders
Experience level is open from Associate to Staff-level Individual Contributors; 3+ years is the stated bare minimum
