About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer problems and map them to Cohere solutions
  • Act as the trusted technical advisor and own technical relationships with stakeholders
  • Increase adoption of Cohere products internally and externally
  • Gather customer insights and feedback to shape future products
  • Lead the design and deployment of customer pilots for strategic enterprise and government customers
  • Own the customer technical narrative from discovery and architecture through pilot results and business case
  • Bring structured customer feedback to Product and Engineering teams
  • Lead technical talk tracks on customer calls
  • Design enterprise architectures for on-premises, air-gapped, and sovereign cloud deployments meeting German and EU requirements
  • Design for classified and disconnected environments, including VS-NfD, DDIL, and tactical edge
  • Conduct technical deep dives on customer queries and Cohere technology
  • Work with customer executives to prioritize use cases, define success metrics, and build AI adoption business cases
  • Translate defence and operational requirements into AI use cases
  • Facilitate customer evaluations and pilots inside customer technology stacks
  • Own technical responses to RFPs and public tenders, including defence procurement
  • Develop and document scalable processes for the solutions architect and adjacent teams
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to align offerings with customer needs
  • Work with system integrators, defence companies, and sovereign cloud providers to enable and accelerate their customers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years in customer-facing technical roles such as consulting data scientist, forward deployed engineer, deployment strategist, or solutions architect
  • Experience taking AI or data solutions from executive problem framing to production
  • Passion for Agentic AI and practical understanding of where LLMs deliver value in production
  • Solid grounding in ML fundamentals, including training, evaluation, and retrieval
  • Ability to design evaluation frameworks for customer pilots
  • Excellent communication skills with technical and executive audiences
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and establish high-impact structures and processes
  • Comfortable working with Python and Assistive Coding tools
  • Experience in or with the defence sector, such as the Bundeswehr, defence companies, federal IT, or NATO
  • Deep understanding of how defence organisations buy and run IT
  • Eligible and willing to undergo German security clearance under the SÜG, Ü2 or higher
  • Professional fluency in English and German (C1 or higher, verhandlungssicher)
  • Experience in the German defence market or with RFPs and public tenders preferred
