About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the technical win in Security deals through discovery, solution design, demos, and proof of value, partnered with the Specialist AE
- Serve as the security architecture SME for ransomware-recovery design, immutable/air-gapped vaulting, identity resilience, and DSPM
- Architect reference architectures and lead technical workshops, POCs, and pilots across regulated industries
- Build executive-quality technical narratives, solution briefs, architecture diagrams, and account-specific business cases
- Understand account technology footprints and work with the security partner ecosystem on joint solutions and technical co-sell
- Feed field insights into the product roadmap
- Support deal hygiene through accurate technical qualification and honest POC exit criteria
- Travel regularly for customer meetings, workshops, and POCs, with periodic travel to Santa Clara HQ and company events
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 5 years of pre-sales engineering and architecture experience in security
- Hands-on experience designing or deploying ransomware-recovery architectures, immutable/air-gapped backup solutions, or identity-resilience (AD/Entra ID recovery) systems
- Strong infrastructure background in backup/recovery, storage, and hybrid-cloud
- Working knowledge of Active Directory / Entra ID architecture and core security concepts, including ransomware kill chains, immutability, air-gapping, and zero trust
- Scripting/API proficiency in Python and PowerShell for demos and POCs
- Excellent communication skills and ability to simplify complex concepts for technical and executive audiences
- Comfort operating in a co-sell / specialist model
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support decision making
- Prior specialist or overlay SE/SA experience at a data infrastructure, backup, or cybersecurity vendor is advantageous
- Existing technical relationships or direct competitive experience in backup, cyber resilience, or data security markets is advantageous
- Language capability matched to the assigned territory (e.g., Japanese, Mandarin, or Bahasa); business-level English
