About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide legal counsel for commercial real estate services business lines, with a focus on brokerage services
- Negotiate, review, and draft contracts
- Manage risk and provide general legal advice
- Review internal shared services documentation, including leases, vendor agreements, and procurement documents
- Serve as a trusted advisor to service line professionals
- Support senior legal colleagues and business line leadership with research and other projects
- Develop positive and collaborative relationships across Colliers
- Ensure common understanding of objectives and service level agreements
- Perform other assigned job-related duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active member of at least one State Bar in good standing
- 3 to 8 years of legal experience
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in a fast-paced and high-volume environment
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking focused on practical client advice on legal risks
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Knowledge of general commercial law and real estate agreements and transactions
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
