About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical customer service and support during installation, commissioning, and servicing of robotic palletizing equipment
  • Assist customers in person, by phone, or by email
  • Respond to service requests, including frequent travel
  • Educate, train, and troubleshoot problems on-site and remotely
  • Participate in after-hours on-call support
  • Supervise local electricians and assembly personnel during electrical and mechanical installation
  • Test local inputs and outputs, pneumatic devices, control interlocks, and alarm states
  • Finalize commissioning by ensuring robotic palletizing systems function properly
  • Train customers on equipment operation and maintenance
  • Meet production schedules and profitability commitments safely and efficiently
  • Support sales by identifying interest in plant upgrades and future modifications
  • Recommend parts and maintenance actions
  • Provide technical support to sales representatives and information for quotations
  • Provide plant layouts to engineering
  • Complete job and expense reports
  • Document project status and on-site changes
  • Assist in developing service manuals
  • Attend educational workshops and review professional publications
  • Participate in cross-functional teams and improve operating efficiencies
  • Document processes and procedures
  • Participate in SOP and SWI training
  • Accomplish other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 5 years professional experience
  • Vocational or technical training preferred
  • Associate’s degree or vocational or technical school degree preferred
  • Experience may substitute for some of the above education
  • Knowledge of PLC Programming and OXPA software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • PLC troubleshooting, including program editing and networking
  • Knowledge of A-B PLC platforms and RSLogix 500 and newer
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Driving record that does not fit the criteria of a high risk driver
  • Ability to provide a respectful work environment for others
  • Ability to work well with others in a team atmosphere
  • Willingness to travel frequently (70%)
  • Subject to customer-required drug and alcohol testing where applicable
  • Must reliably commute to or plan to relocate before starting work in Vancouver, WA 98661
