About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Run monthly consolidation in Prophix
  • Own the consolidated P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statement, and variance commentary for the board pack
  • Own consolidated balance sheet and cash flow statements for budgets and forecasts
  • Support year-end consolidation
  • Prepare statutory IFRS Group accounts and year-end accounts for all UK entities
  • Serve as subject matter expert on IFRS
  • Own IFRS 16 reporting, foreign currency translation, expected credit loss model, and intercompany loan schedules
  • Maintain and update group accounting policies
  • Monitor IFRS changes, assess business impact, and write technical position papers for audit
  • Account for newly acquired entities, including PPA, fair value adjustments, opening balance sheets, consolidation integration, and annual goodwill impairment testing
  • Monitor financial controls around close, including balance sheet reconciliations and close timetables
  • Identify and implement close and year-end process improvements
  • Guide local finance managers on postings and accounting compliance
  • Support external audit management and liaise with external tax advisors
  • Identify opportunities to simplify legal entity structures
  • Provide support to the Group Financial Controller on strategic tasks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or qualified by experience)
  • 2+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE)
  • Strong working knowledge of group consolidations, intercompany accounting, and IFRS within a multi-entity, multi-currency international business
  • Strong understanding of current leading AI tools and how to leverage them to drive efficiency
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite general ledgers and Prophix consolidation software highly beneficial
  • Proven track record of managing multiple stakeholders concurrently and delivering under tight deadlines
  • Ability to navigate, evaluate, and adopt domain-specific AI tools
  • Skill in structuring clear inputs and contexts to extract accurate, high-value outputs from AI platforms
  • Ability to convert machine results into actionable business deliverables
  • Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, hallucination, bias, relevance, and alignment with organisational standards
  • Active learning of new workplace-approved technology and AI capabilities
  • Strict adherence to company data privacy standards and AI Policy guardrails
  • Ability to identify repetitive, low-value tasks that can be automated or accelerated
