About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive simplification and optimisation of Home Lending credit policy
  • Reduce unnecessary complexity and improve customer journeys
  • Support greater automation of credit risk decisioning while ensuring responsible lending
  • Maintain alignment with Home Buying’s credit appetite and the Group credit policy framework
  • Review existing Home Lending policies and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Translate policy requirements into clear, practical business rules and guidance
  • Engage with frontline, decisioning and business stakeholders to simplify or rewrite policy
  • Define and refine business rules and guidance materials
  • Assess channel and business-unit needs to ensure policy requirements are applied effectively
  • Use customer, portfolio and market insights to identify emerging risks and opportunities
  • Support business cases, implementation plans and policy and process improvements
  • Collaborate with Credit Risk Strategy, Governance and Performance colleagues
  • Report to the Senior Manager, Credit Risk Automation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in credit risk management, with Home Lending or consumer-lending experience highly regarded
  • Ability to interpret, review and clearly articulate credit policy, business rules and supporting guidance
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Ability to build trusted relationships across risk, product, decisioning and frontline teams
  • Ability to use customer, market and portfolio insights to identify risks, simplify processes and improve policy outcomes
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into clear, practical language
  • Organised and commercially minded
  • Comfortable contributing to change initiatives in a flexible, multi-skilled environment
  • A qualification in business, finance or a related discipline is desirable
