About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead engineering for the bank’s AI-enabled Risk AI Platform
Design, build, and operate .NET/Python microservices and REST APIs with OpenAPI specifications and Kong gateway integration
Drive architectural refactoring, modularisation, performance tuning, and reliability improvements
Write production code, conduct peer reviews, define engineering standards, and guide Staff and Senior engineers
Establish CI/CD golden paths using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD
Implement automated unit, integration, and performance testing and progressive delivery
Embed observability and operability using Grafana, Prometheus, PagerDuty, SLOs/SLIs, and production readiness reviews
Build and extend multi-agent architectures, conversational AI workflows, and Rules-as-Code frameworks
Apply LLM APIs/platforms, MCP, A2A, and planning/optimisation patterns to solution architecture
Partner with Product Owners, Data Scientists, Risk Technology, and platform teams to plan increments and deliver risk-operation outcomes
Ensure compliance with Tech Controls and Privacy Front Door processes
Champion secure coding, secrets management, SSO/RBAC, SailPoint, and encryption
Consume producer-led S3/Iceberg data products and Kafka event streams as platform inputs
Provide technical direction as platforms scale from MVP to enterprise-grade capability

Requirements

What you’ll need

Deep software engineering expertise in .NET and/or Python
Track record of building and operating production microservices and APIs at scale
Experience with FastAPI and REST/OpenAPI contract design highly valued
AI and agentic engineering experience, including agent orchestration frameworks, LLM gateway/proxy patterns, prompt engineering, and AI evaluation/observability tooling
Experience with React, Next.js, and Node.js
Strong AWS cloud experience with EKS/Kubernetes, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFormation, ALB, and EC2
Hands-on CI/CD and GitOps experience with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Docker, Helm/Kustomize, and automated testing
Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, ELK/Obstack, SLOs/SLIs, production readiness reviews, and PagerDuty
Familiarity with PingSSO/OIDC, SailPoint, AWS Secrets Manager, and secure coding practices in regulated environments
Experience with Kafka, S3/Iceberg, and DynamoDB as a consumer of producer-led data products
Strong architectural thinking, including code modularisation, API contracts, and integration patterns
Proven ability to lead without authority through code reviews, technical mentoring, and engineering standards
Curiosity and commitment to lifelong learning
Ability to thrive in ambiguity and scale systems from early-stage to enterprise
Passion for applying AI to risk management and governance
