About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the design, development, deployment and operation of secure, scalable cloud-native software solutions
  • Shape architecture and technical direction across AWS and Kubernetes-based platforms
  • Develop software and automation
  • Integrate AI-enabled capabilities into the platform and guide practical, responsible adoption
  • Embed automated testing, observability, monitoring and secure-by-design engineering practices
  • Improve delivery through infrastructure as code, continuous integration and deployment, GitOps and reusable engineering patterns
  • Strengthen operational resilience, reliability, disaster recovery, performance and cost efficiency
  • Mentor engineers, share knowledge and influence technical outcomes across squads and the wider crew
  • Operate, strengthen and progressively enhance AWS-hosted, containerised OpenText document retention and archiving platforms

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experienced software engineer and technical leader
  • Strong software engineering experience in Python, Java or .NET
  • Sound design, testing and secure coding practices
  • Deep hands-on experience designing and operating solutions on AWS and Kubernetes, ideally including Amazon EKS
  • Practical experience with AI-enabled solutions, intelligent automation, machine learning integration patterns, retrieval-augmented generation or agentic AI
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment, GitHub Actions, GitOps, Argo CD, Helm and infrastructure as code such as CloudFormation
  • Strong knowledge of observability, reliability engineering, security, identity and access management, encryption and operational support
  • Ability to provide technical leadership, mentor engineers and influence architecture and engineering standards across teams
  • Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, Oracle or MongoDB, will be well regarded
  • Experience applying AI within software or platform engineering is strongly preferred, although relevant exposure and ability to build capability will also be considered
