About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and deliver end-to-end authentication solutions across React/Next.js experiences and Node.js BFF services
Shape scalable BFF and API architecture using REST and GraphQL
Translate high-level requirements into system designs and production-ready solutions
Design secure token management, sessions, authentication state and identity-platform integrations
Build resilient cloud-native services using distributed-system and engineering patterns
Champion clean code, automated testing, observability, CI/CD and production reliability
Collaborate across engineering teams and channels to create reusable integration patterns and consistent customer experiences
Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions while remaining hands-on
Contribute to customer authentication capabilities including login, multi-factor authentication and passkeys

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong full-stack engineering capability with end-to-end technical ownership
Deep experience with Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript
Experience designing and building backend or Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) services
Strong React experience and familiarity or hands-on experience with Next.js
Demonstrated system-design capability
Experience designing REST APIs
Understanding of cloud-native and distributed architectures
Knowledge of application security, authentication or identity patterns
Secure handling of sessions or tokens
Strong engineering fundamentals across automated testing, CI/CD, observability, reliability and clean, maintainable code
Curiosity about AI-assisted engineering and modern engineering tools
