About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Translate strategic goals into prioritised initiatives, investment cases, technology plans and governed delivery roadmaps
  • Lead horizon scanning and competitive analysis over a three- to five-year outlook
  • Produce white papers, strategic recommendations and executive-level decision materials
  • Design and run innovation frameworks and programmes, including labs, hackathons and proof-of-concept or proof-of-value activities
  • Take ideas through incubation and pilot stages
  • Diagnose business challenges, optimise processes and recommend best-fit technologies
  • Evaluate architecture and solution proposals against governance, standards, value, feasibility, risk and commercial discipline
  • Investigate unfamiliar technology domains by engaging specialists and validating assumptions
  • Support strategic customer work and major programmes, including periods of on-site engagement when needed
  • Build relationships with technology vendors, partners, analysts and industry communities
  • Influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional, cross-country initiatives without direct authority
  • Act as a thought leader and mentor, sharing knowledge and championing best practice

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Relevant experience in technology strategy, CTO advisory, enterprise architecture, innovation, digital strategy, technology transformation or consulting
  • Broad understanding across the technology stack, with ability to investigate unfamiliar domains
  • Ability to connect technology trends with business, commercial, economic and customer considerations
  • Experience developing technology or domain strategies and producing strategy documents, white papers, recommendations or executive-level materials
  • Knowledge of technical or solution architecture, business analysis and data
  • Familiarity with TOGAF, SAFe, waterfall, agile, DevOps and DevSecOps
  • Excellent business acumen, analytical judgement, planning, facilitation and problem-solving skills
  • Confident communication, presentation and influencing skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear organisational choices
  • Collaborative style and credibility with senior leaders, domain owners, technical specialists, delivery teams and partners across functions and countries
  • Autonomy, reliability and comfort working through ambiguity
  • Responsible use of approved AI-assisted tools, including protecting company information and checking sources
  • Intellectual curiosity, integrity, adaptability and a technology-neutral, value-led mindset
  • English language proficiency at C1 level or comparable
