About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a senior technical and client-facing subject matter expert across complex data center engagements
  • Partner with business leaders to deliver services supporting company objectives and Winning Together values
  • Identify and contact potential clients and convert business opportunities into projects
  • Build relationships with existing clients and maintain frequent communication, regular visits, and client satisfaction
  • Determine project scope, budgets, and timelines with clients and management
  • Develop business proposals, SOWs, reports, functional and technical specifications, and solution recommendations
  • Negotiate project terms and conditions with clients
  • Implement product development initiatives for future client needs
  • Identify project risks and challenges and develop resolution plans
  • Schedule client meetings, process invoices, and review engagement letters
  • Provide client project training
  • Plan and manage multiple projects, track progress, correct delays, and report status
  • Act as Fiber Subject Matter Expert for hyperscale data center design, deployment, commissioning, and remediation
  • Lead and review structured cabling and optical fiber designs, including backbone, horizontal, inter-rack, and high-density connectivity architectures
  • Provide technical guidance for single-mode and multimode fiber systems, MPO/MTP and LC connectivity, polarity, loss budgets, pathway planning, labeling, and cable management
  • Validate fiber infrastructure against BICSI, TIA, ISO/IEC, and customer-specific standards
  • Develop and review fiber test plans, MOPs, acceptance criteria, and quality-control processes
  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 fiber testing expertise, including optical loss testing, polarity/continuity validation, OTDR analysis, inspection, cleanliness, and failed-link troubleshooting
  • Analyze test results and field conditions, identify root causes, recommend corrective action, and close installation and performance issues
  • Provide technical leadership to project engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and customer teams
  • Review drawings, bills of material, fiber matrices, port maps, test documentation, and as-built records
  • Support client design reviews, technical workshops, proposals, SOW development, estimating, and solution recommendations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience supporting fiber infrastructure in hyperscale data center environments
  • Current BICSI Data Center Design Consultant (DCDC) certification required
  • Current BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification required
  • Demonstrated experience with high-density fiber design, installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and documentation in large-scale mission-critical environments
  • Proven ability to lead technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across complex, high-volume fiber environments
  • Ability to develop standards, best practices, installation procedures, testing methodologies, and acceptance criteria for large-scale fiber deployments
  • Ability to interpret data center drawings, fiber matrices, cable schedules, rack elevations, port maps, and test reports
  • Proficiency with fiber inspection and test equipment, including optical loss test sets (OLTS), optical power meters/light sources, and OTDR platforms
  • Strong knowledge of fiber types, connector systems, MPO/MTP polarity methods, optical budgets, insertion loss, reflectance, and link performance requirements
  • Expert-level knowledge of hyperscale data center fiber infrastructure and structured cabling systems
  • Taking ownership of queries and managing through to a prompt resolution
  • Demonstrate a creative and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Performing as a credible capable professional and an expert in the relevant field
