About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide legal and regulatory compliance support for export and import trade
- Support customers on compliance matters
- Manage international shipments by liaising with governments, warehouse/logistics staff, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other stakeholders
- Assist the Director of Global Trade & Compliance with trade-related programs, legal and regulatory compliance, auditing, and public relations
- Implement and monitor company-wide policies and procedures for US and foreign import/export regulations
- Create and maintain compliance manuals, processes, work instructions, and related requirements
- Perform day-to-day legal and regulatory compliance
- Support obtaining shipment permits and product certificates
- Research and determine Harmonized Tariff classifications and ECCN numbers
- Conduct customer compliance and reliability screening, end-use/end-user screening, and Red Flag reviews
- Assist with trade compliance training for internal audiences
- Participate in projects improving trade compliance efficiency and value contribution
- Partner with business leaders to deliver services supporting company objectives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in experience
- 2 years of experience in international trade, import/export operations, import/export compliance, or equivalent in experience
- Willingness to obtain Customs Broker license
- Exceptional customer service experience
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of standard logistics and transportation requirements and procedures is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of an organization
- Solid organizational and time/project management skills
- Strong quantitative, analytical and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail
- Self-starter initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision
