About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Monitor applications, automated workflows and server environments to maintain performance and availability
  • Investigate incidents, performance issues and error messages, identify root causes and implement solutions
  • Process client data files and support delivery of customer communications
  • Support Windows server environments, software releases, upgrades and change activities
  • Work with developers, infrastructure teams and service delivery managers to resolve issues and support new solutions
  • Contribute to disaster recovery activities, technical projects, documentation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop deep technical expertise and become a Subject Matter Expert across a portfolio of applications
  • Take ownership of systems and contribute to solution design and implementation
  • Provide technical guidance to colleagues and stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in application support, technical support or IT operations environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to investigate incidents and identify root causes
  • Knowledge of Windows Server environments
  • Knowledge of application monitoring and system performance management
  • SQL querying skills
  • Understanding of data processing concepts
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals
  • Experience using service management or ticketing tools
  • Interest in developing specialist expertise in business-critical applications
  • Exposure to PowerShell, IIS, ITIL practices, software deployments, change management or disaster recovery activities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical mindset
