About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide management and leadership for a small team of Solution Architects
Support technology delivery teams through architecture services and system design
Drive innovation and technical strategy
Lead solution architecture across complex and business-critical initiatives
Work with engineering teams, enterprise and domain architects, security specialists, and business leaders from concept through successful delivery
Influence strategic planning, technology investment decisions, and large-scale transformation programmes
Manage the resource pool and assignment of work from the demand pipeline
Manage senior stakeholders’ expectations and initiative timeframes
Support business and technical change through architecture support and early engagement in technical change
Support the evolution of architectural designs through delivery
Act as an escalation point for architecture issues and design blockers
Develop and mentor the Solution Architecture team
Operate and design Solution Architecture governance processes
Chair technology design authorities and manage controls
Work with Domain Architecture to align design-supporting capabilities with wider global technology standards
Participate in global governance and Architecture communities
Contribute to annual project delivery and technology planning across the technology department

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience in solution architecture, with a strong track record of designing and delivering complex, scalable technology solutions within large organisations
Experience leading a Solution Architecture team and driving architectural capability development
Proven expertise in solution design, architecture governance, and design authority processes
Experience working in Cloud, Hybrid Cloud and Infrastructure focused Architecture functions
Technology expertise in Azure, Artificial Intelligence platforms, DevOps Practices, Infrastructure as Code, Microsoft 365, Nutanix Compute, Dell Enterprise Storage, Enterprise Networking (Cisco / Juniper), Redhat Linux & Openshift and Wintel technology stacks is highly desirable
Experience delivering complex, enterprise-scale technology solutions and strategic transformation programmes
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate and justify architectural decisions at all levels
Demonstrated success working in high-performing teams within dynamic, fast-paced environments
Experience working across cross-functional teams, including engineering, development, security, and business functions
Experience operating within global organisations and engaging with stakeholders across multiple regions and cultures
Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills
Experience within Financial Services, Markets, Share Registry, Transfer Agency, or Employee Share Plans would be advantageous
