About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain and optimize three PostgreSQL databases hosted on Amazon RDS
Plan and execute database migrations
Perform database performance tuning and optimization
Verify database backups
Support improvements to database availability and reliability, including a single-Availability Zone instance
Support the platform engineering team with projection schemas and change-data-capture (CDC) configuration
Collaborate with technical teams on database solutions for application modernization and ongoing production operations
Participate in two-week sprints and customer demonstrations each sprint

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of 4 years of experience administering PostgreSQL databases in production environments
Hands-on experience with database migrations and performance tuning
Experience with Amazon RDS or equivalent managed database services
Experience with Debezium or PostgreSQL logical replication preferred
Familiarity with AWS GovCloud environments preferred
Active Secret security clearance strongly preferred
U.S. citizenship required
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoW security clearance
Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
Availability during core hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern
Willingness to work on-site at Government facilities in Northern Virginia and Maryland as required
Willingness to travel 0–10% within the Washington, DC metropolitan area
